Security Alarm System
Why should I have a security alarm system?
A security alarm system will give you peace of mind that your home or business is protected. Having a security alarm system may decrease the chances of a burglary and reduce your losses. Moreover, it will help to deter unwanted intruders. Even if the security alarm system does not keep an intruder from breaking in, it may cause the intruder to stay a shorter amount of time. Further, many insurance companies will give you a discount on your homeowner’s insurance policy if you have an active home security alarm system.
We will custom design a security alarm system to give you the best protection possible for your home or business.
We use a multi-layered protection strategy by providing you a combination of door and window contacts and interior motion sensors. While motion detectors should never be used as the primary means of detection, they provide essential secondary coverage.
What should a security alarm system include?
Security Control Panel: This is the “brains” of the system. A security control panel is typically located in an interior closet and is where the system wiring terminates, the backup battery is located, and where it is connected to the phone lines if it is a monitored system.
Keypad: This is where you arm and disarm the system.
Siren: This alerts the intruder that the alarm has triggered and that there will be a response.
Door and Window Contacts: These trigger the security alarm system when a door or window is opened (and the system is on).
Inside Motion Detectors: These sense changes in a room caused by human presence. Special pet-immune motion detectors are available for people who have pets.
A Central Monitoring Station: When your alarm is set off, the control panel sends a message to our central monitoring station, which is manned 24 hours a day. After attempting to contact you, our central monitoring station will contact the police, fire department, or medics.
Additional devices that can be added to your security alarm system include:
- Cellular Backup Communication units in case the phone line is cut
- Smoke and Heat Detectors for fire and life-safety protection
- Carbon Dioxide Gas Monitors
- Glass Break Detectors
- Low-Temperature Sensors
- Panic Buttons
- Personal Emergency Response
- Wireless Control Buttons
