So here you go, the newest feature of our new web site. Why a blog?
We want to give insight into what we're learning, new products we find, trainings we enjoy, and things that are happening at NuSystems that we think others might find interesting.
As an example: Sarah, Jared and I were in San Francisco on Monday for the First Alert Professional regional dealer meeting. We saw the latest in security offerings from Honeywell. Most interesting to me was a device that can be attached to any item; a painting, a vase, snowmobile, TV, whatever. If it's moved it trips the alarm. If you're interested it's called an Asset Protection Sensor. We also enjoyed "networking" with fellow alarm dealers.
Tuesday's agenda was get up early and get over to Pleasanton for Speakercraft's Mini Gig. Though they are a speaker manufacture the day was not about product. Lots of motivating material on making ourselves and our company the best it can be. A couple of highlights for me: Have rules to live by in your company. They shared a list for Speakercraft that included "practice abandonement". If you make a mistake fix it and move on, don't dwell on it. "Give absolute satisfaction to your customers". "Mediocrity Sucks". That's my favorite. There was great information on a referral program that we plan to implement. I also appreciated a formula that was shared. E+R=O. An event plus your response equals an outcome. The important part about this is remembering that you can't blame the event for the outcome. You have to change your response to change the outcome and blaming anyone or anything else won't change that. Good stuff for lots of situations.
